Following the conclusion of the Hillsborough Inquest in Warrington today, Labour Leader at Sefton Council, Cllr Ian Maher issued the following:
Cllr Ian Maher, Labour Leader at Sefton Council, said: “My sincere thoughts are with the families of the 96 Liverpool fans on this momentous day.
“Following this tragic disaster they never stopped fighting for justice, showing great courage and determination, and this decision is long overdue.
“So many communities and families were affected following the events in 1989, and after 27 long years the truth is finally out.”
