High winds cause havoc at Southport supermarket

High winds have caused havoc at a supermarket car park after apparently blowing down a trolley hut.

Staff first thought vandals had kicked down the heavy metal trolley shelter in Morrisons car park but later discovered it had fallen victim to the wind.

Drivers swerved to avoid the shelter which has not yet been removed or closed off for safety and there are fears if winds pick back up it could be blown further across the car park and strike vehicles which are close by.
