More than fifty post codes in the High Park area of Southport are set to be hit by a deliberate power cut this evening
Scottish Power say they have had no choice but to turn the power off in the PR9 postcode area of Southport at 22:00 so their engineers can safely carry out emergency repairs to faulty underground cable equipment at the local substation.
A spokesperson said “We aim to restore power by 24/03/2026, 04:00. To protect your equipment, please switch off and unplug all electrical appliances, including your boiler.
“We will update this message if the information changes. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
