Hesketh Park prepares for landmark birthday

Hesketh Park Heritage Group are planning a community party to mark the 150th birthday of the much- loved park.

The group, which formed more than 20 years ago, are organising a celebration event at the park from 11am-4pm on Sunday, September 16.

They are appealing for groups and singers to provide entertainment for donations on the day.

Tom Glover, chairman of the Heritage Group, shared some of what the group has done for the park during the last two decades.

He said: “This year Hesketh Park, one of the oldest parks in the country is 150 years old.”
