Herald Juniors U13’s reach the County Cup Final

    By COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTOR28th March 2019

After a tough run the Herald has reached the prestigious Liverpool cup final. They are hoping to emulate the Herald adults team a few years back when they lifted the trophy at Walton Hall Park.

During the camapaign The Herald have beaten Hurricanes, MHS, Stockbridge Village, Huyton Spartak and The Flory all extremely tough teams from Liverpool.

Now they face the almighty task of overcoming one of the best u13 sides in the country -The outstanding Brittania Juniors from Liverpool.

Like the Herald they also compete in the best league in the country the Junior Premier League. The two JPL sides in the final promises to be a mouth-watering game.

The Cup final will take place at The Liverpool County FA, Walton Hall Park, Liverpool

It would be great if everyone could come and show there support for the lads.

The Herald manager told OTS News

It’s been a great couple of years since we started but this season has been the best with the games we’ve had to play and going far and wide playing teams from all over the country and we’ve more than held our own.

Every team that has come to play us knows they’ve had a game.

We’re still in the national cup last 16 as well and the experience has been nothing short of amazing for the lads.

We’ve not had any downs this season and the ups we’ve had have been amazing.

The lads give there all against huge teams and the best teams in the country.

If we finish in the top 4 of the JPL this season it will feel like we’ve won the league. We’re just a small club from Southport competing against massive clubs and we’re on course for a top 4 finish if not right to the summit.

I’m proud of my lads and what they’ve achieved in such a short space of time.

I would like to thank our sponsors:-

Cesare and Chiara of GMG Solutions limited.

Andrew and Lisa Fleming of Panoramic Events.

David Polansky and Andrew Miles of Churchtown Barbers.

    Sharon from The Asda Foundation.

Most of all the parents for their commitment and loyalty to this team.

They’ve been superb on our adventure but this journey has only just begun.
