Heatwave forces vinyl shop owner to get creative

12th August 2022

Scorching temperatures have forced the owner of a popular vinyl music shop in Southport to take drastic action to save his collection.

Quicksilver Music owner Dave Thorey, who runs the hugely popular Market Street record store, has reassured customers the building remains open despite its shutters being nearly fully closed.

The faux closure is actually an ingenious solution thought up by Dave, who says the rising temperatures are high enough to melt the previous vinyl.

Temperatures are set to reach 30°c today and remain high into the weekend.

Dave said “We are still open as normal over the next few days folks.

“We have just got the shutters part down protecting all that lovely Vinyl inside during the
heatwave!!”
