Heartbroken families recoil in cemetery rubbish dump horror

A Birkdale resident says Sefton Council are a disgrace for letting rubbish build up at Duke Street cemetery.

The woman who doesn’t want to be named said she was stunned to see piles of rubbish and dog muck in the cemetery when visiting two of her relatives.

She said “I have two relatives buried in Duke Street Cemetery, Southport.

“Sefton council, they are a disgrace for not removing this mess on day one.”

“It is an absolute disgrace. It costs a lot of money to buy a plot and have a grave opened. What on earth the Council are doing with those funds is beyond me.

I have complained on numerous occasions about the rubbish left blowing around and dog mess left behind by their irresponsible, thoughtless owners.

I am utterly disgusted. Whoever dumped this has no shame, no compassion, no morals.
