Halloween Maze is the centre piece of Spooky Southport

By On The Spot News17th September 2018

Halloween Maze is the centre piece of Spooky Southport

A giant maze is coming to Southport as the centre pieced of this year’s annual Halloween Festival.

Our annual Halloween festival is the town’s fastest growing town centre event and is four days of great family spectacle and events.  This year’s festival revolves around the two-metre-high maze that will appear in Town Hall Gardens.  The maze will be filled with spooky characters there to make mischief and try and thwart anyone trying to make their way round!

The Maze open on the 25th of October with a very special ‘Tiny Monsters’ day with Starkidz.  Little ones will helping the Ghost Busters hunt down the spooks hiding around each corner and meet some of their favourite Disney villains waiting to play!

The Maze then opens fully on Friday 26th for three days of utter mischief for every generation! Giggle and scream as you try to make it all the way through without meeting one of the ghosts, witches and ghouls and try to hope you aren’t the one they set their sites on for some mischief!

The festival, now in it’s fourth year has grown into a four-day event with visitors coming to the town from throughout the region to enjoy all the spooky family fun!  Hugh Evans of the BID says, “We are really excited about the maze and the way the festival is growing. We want to deliver a great event that can appeal to all ages groups and really helps bring people into the town centre for the day.  The festival has continued to grow each year and gets such a positive response from Halloween fans on line.   It adds to an already superb annual events calendar for the town and helps keep Southport’s profile high out of season and for the October half term”

Look out for the other great events going on in and around the town centre all week, including giant Dragons and their druid keepers. The Dragons, appearing on Chapel Street Saturday the 27th will move and dance to choreographed music as they breath out smoke!  There are also more announcements to come this week about other spooky pop up events coming including The Greatest Halloween show and a ghost pirate ship!

The festival runs from the 25th-28th of October. If you would like to advertise your Half Term or Halloween event on our dedicated website please just get in touch. For more information on the festival follow @spookysouthport or go to spookysouthport.com.
