Halloween in Southport is officially CANCELLED

2nd October 2020

The spooky trick or treating that usually brings joy to thousands of Southport youngsters is now no more.

The Prime Minister announced that all areas facing a local lockdown should not take part in the annual spooktacular tradition to halt the spread of Coronavirus.

A Number 10 spokesman told reporters yesterday that thousands of families under local lockdowns in broad swathes of England should not mix, when asked whether traditional ghoulish events should take place on October 31.

And it warned that elsewhere the Rule of Six applied, meaning parents face fines of up to £200 if their children are caught in larger groups going door-to-door for sweets.
