Grading glitch leaves resort college students disgusted

Furious parents of A-Level students at a Southport College say they have been left waiting hours longer than they should have for their results today.

One mum, who’s child studies at King George V College in Southport said she was left ‘disgusted’ by the college after the rest of the country were given their results at 8am while she and others were left with no word from their tutors.

Students who were still waiting for their grades received a results email, only to find it totally blank.

Results had still not received their results at 10.20 this morning.

When they contacted the college staff told them the system was suffering a ‘technical glitch.’

Staff at the college told parents directly they were looking into the issue and asked for patience, while one parent said the issue appeared to only be caused by those accessing the results by smartphone.

A spokesperson for the college said: “We are really sorry that some students were unable to access their results from their phones first thing this morning. They should have been able to do so and this was very disappointing. We resolved the issue as a matter of urgency with each individual as soon as we were contacted.

KGV students have achieved some excellent results today, with a high number of subjects achieving 100% pass rates and many students obtaining the top grades. The vast majority of our students have been successful in securing a place at their first choice of university and we are so proud of each and every one of their achievements.”
