Gas Safety advice from K Redmond Plumbing & Heating (Southport)
Keith Redmond said:” I have worked in the Plumbing & Heating trade for over forty years.
It is quite clear that in Southport large amounts of gas works is being done by illegal gas workers. I have come across house holders and landlords undertaking work themselves, or using odd job handymen type workers.
Every year hundreds of people suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning and people are killed for the sake of using a little more care. The law is quite clear landlords, householders and the local council has a duty of care to make sure that people are safe in places they live.”
Yours Keith Redmond

Gas Safety Warning
It is quite clear that some landlords and householders are undertaking gas work themselves on using untrained staff.
The workmanship falls well below the standard required by the HSE and Gas Safe. The law is clear all gas work must be carried out by gas registered engineers.
Rented houses and flats must have gas pips work flues and appliance checks every 12 months and a gas contract with a copy supplied to tenants.
