Freshfields Animal Rescue need your votes to help win national award!

24th January 2018

A volunteer led animal rescue centre in Sefton has made it to the final of a top national competition, but needs your help to clinch the award.

The incredible volunteer supported team at Freshfields Animal Rescue have been chosen as one of two finalists in the Charity Today ‘Animal Welfare Charity of the Year’ Awards.

Each day dedicated staff and volunteers give up their time to help care for a menagerie of animals at the Ince Blundell based rescue centre.

They put their heart and soul into their work, giving unconditional love and compassion every day to abused, abandoned and unwanted animals.

Debbie Hughes, spokeswoman for Freshfields Animal Rescue, said: “Our team literally take their work home with them!

“Operations Manager Dawn has fostered hundreds of animals over the past 10 years.

“It makes all the difference to dogs to snooze on a warm, comfy sofa in a real home, whilst they wait for their forever family to come along.

“Many animals come from traumatic situations of abuse and neglect, and this wonderful group of individuals transforms traumatic situations of abuse and neglect into new lives and loving new homes.

“We do this with the support of the local communities which we are proud to serve.

“We are up against a larger animal rescue centre, which is based in London. It would be a great result for a local rescue centre to scoop this prestigious award.”
