The Freshfield in Formby is blowing away those January blues with its 2nd Real Ale Festival. After the success of their “Freshie 50” in June, this one plans to be even bigger with 60 ales over a week from 21st to 27th January.
Featuring all brand new and exciting ales never seen before at the Freshie from breweries such as Leeds, Moorhouses, Boggarts, Saltaire and Liverpool Organic.
Manager Steve Gregory said “ this is really exciting for us…people say that everyday is like a beer festival here with our 14 handpumps, but with even more choice with an extra gravity bar, it will be even harder to decide what to try!”
Liverpool Organics “Imperial Russian Stout” at an eye watering 7.9% is expected to be particularly popular. The festival will be accompanied by the launch of a great range of local hand made pies as well as the regular Freshfield menu if you fancy something more substantial.
Entertainment from local group “ Me and My Cousin” on Thursday night is not to be missed, while on Sunday come down and support local charity “Donnas Dream” with a Grand Raffle and an acoustic set by local band Laid back House Fire.
