Free health checks and microchipping for dogs in SOUTHPORT

Free health checks and microchipping for dogs will be offered at events in Formby and Southport.

The local authority has teamed up with the Dogs Trust to help pro- mote the ongoing Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) across the borough.

The PSPO, brought in earlier this year, enforces new rules such as limiting the number of dogs that can be walked by one person to a maximum of six and ‘on-lead’ zones in parks and green spaces.

Sessions will include PSPO and Good Dog Code advice, free health checks including nail clipping, free responsible dog ownership packs and free on the spot microchipping service.

The events will take place from 11am to 3pm in Hesketh Park Conservatory, on Tuesday, October 30 and Duke Street Park football pavillion, Formby on Monday, November 5.
