Sefton@Work has launched a new Digital Inclusion class to help job seekers find employment online.

The sessions, aimed at both beginners and experienced computer users, will help unemployed residents access important job search tools, in keeping with new national legislation.

As well as helping users set up email accounts and search for jobs, the classes will also demonstrate how computers can be a useful tool in everyday life.

Gareth Wilson, Neighbourhood Co-ordinator for Sefton@Work, said: “Computers and the internet have become an integral part of everyday life for unemployed residents across Sefton. However, there are still many people who struggle with digital technology.

“The new Digital Inclusion class is tailored to each individuals needs and provides a relaxed environment in which to develop their skills.”

Courses are currently running across the borough, including the Sefton@Work office in Bootle and community venues in Netherton, Southport and Bootle.

Sefton@Work is part of Sefton Council’s economic development team and helps local workless residents get into employment and training.
