Southport’s two new players couldn’t stop the rot as Port get battered against Macclesfield Town in the Vanarama Conference.

Good news is Sandgrounders Danny Hattersley who went out on loan to Hailfax this week got on the scoreboard for his new club.

8 minutes into todays  game Luke Waterfall (Macclesfield Town) put them 1-0 ahead with a right footed shot from the right side of the box to the top right corner of the net. Macclesfield Town 1, Southport 0.

Macclesfield Town went 2-0 up after 21 minutes when Paul Turnbull scored from a free kick with a right footed shot to the top right corner. Macclesfield Town 2, Southport 0.

It was all over on 42 minutes when Luke Waterfall made it 3-0 with a header from a difficult angle on the left to the top left corner of the net.

Southport remain on 8 points just above relegation
