FOUR MEN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY FOLLOWING INCIDENT AT BARGAIN BOOZE, LYDIATE

Four men have appeared in court charged with robbery following an incident at the Bargain Booze store in Liverpool Road, Lydiate on Thursday night.

James Brown, aged 25, of Gloucester Road, Bootle; anthony Keating, aged 26, of Copthorne Walk, Kirkby; Mark Darcy, aged 27, from Kent; and Jamie Andrew Roberts, aged 25, of no fixed abode, appeared before magistrates on Saturday.

They were remanded in custody to appear before Liverpool Crown Court at a later date.

Roberts was also charged with a street robbery and assault which happened in Saxonia Road in Liverpool on June 28th and with assaulting a custody assistant following his arrest on August 21st.

Four men arrested in connection with a second robbery on August 21st, this time at a Co-op shop in Rainhill, remain on police bail for that offence. A police investigation into that incident remains ongoing.
