What’s your favourite historical fact about Southport? I think Louis Napoleon lived on Lord Street and was inspired to create the modern day Paris

That Southport rugby club is the 6th oldest in the world

One of Britain's greatest spies lived in Southport for 30 years before her death in 1978 - a fact known to very few (see my 'war heroine' post).
Southport has probably the best-preserved indoor Victorian fernery in England - a hidden gem. The only other one I know of is at Tatton Park. Long may it last.
