Former Birkdale High pupil called up to Scotland U21 team

Former Birkdale High School Pupil Kyle Joseph has been called up to the U21 Scotland national football team.

Joseph, who plays as a forward for Wigan Athletic, has formerly played for Craven Minor League Team Birkdale United as well as winning competitions with Birkdale High School and Range High School in Formby.

He joined the Wigan Athletic academy at 13 years old.

Scotland U21s will play a pair of matches against Northern Ireland in preparation for the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers.

He has played for Scotland internationally at under-18 and under-19 levels.

The emerging starlet is out of contract at Wigan this summer, and has attracted interest from Newcastle United, according to the Daily Mail.
