Long vehicle tailbacks have been experienced today on the Formby Bypass (A565) into Woodvale.
Above: Formby to Southport was quicker via bicycle this afternoon, thanks to lengthy gridlock.
Surface damage on Liverpool Road, which is now being labelled as a sinkhole, has resulted in the road closure.

The hole has been cordoned off yet there was no sign of any workmen at the time these photos were taken this evening.
NB. More official data is required before the true nature of this road problem is ascertained.
