Heavy rain has caused major flooding across the town with the Coastal Road and Bentham’s Way totally submerged in parts, Monday 24 February 2020.
In particular the Town Lane areas of Southport is so at risk of flooding, surveys say they could be totally underwater in 100 years.
One resident said “Town Lane has been flooding for years but now it’s much worse, ever since developers decided to take the area and develop it.
“Whose idea was it to build on this area, when it was a flooded field for years and years?
“As usual, greed has been put above common sense!”
