Flood Minister’s visit to West Lancs Sam Currie, Conservative candidate for West Lancashire, invited Therese Coffey, Under Secretary of State at the Department of the Environment, to West Lancashire to discuss various local flooding issues.
The visit took place this week and Sam took the Minister to see the Alt/Crossens Pumps that are under threat of being switched off, Parbold where many houses were flooded in December 2015 and the ongoing problem with combined sewers in Burscough.
They were accompanied by Seema Kennedy, the Conservative Candidate seeking re-election in the South Ribble seat.
Sam, said: “It was great to have the Minister visit the Constituency and have the opportunity to discuss possible solutions whilst showing her around West Lancs. I was able to explain the issues and impress upon her the importance of finding solutions for the benefit of local residents and economy of West Lancs.”
