Firefighters called to Southport to rescue pigeon

A fire crew was called to Southport this afternoon to help release a pigeon from a drain pipe, Weds October 28 2015.

Firefighters attended a property on the Promenade in Southport at around 1.45pm.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue assisted the RSPCA in rescuing the pigeon, which was trapped in a drain pipe that was around 25 feet high.

One fire appliance was called out and firefighters were at the scene for just under an hour.

The condition of the pigeon has not been revealed.

This is not the first time this happened, in 2013 OTSnews was on the scene of a similar pigeon rescue (see below)
