Fire engines seen at Wayfarers Arcade, Southport

A number of fire engines were seen around Wayfarers Arcade today at about 12:30.

The fire brigade was called to Wayfarers Arcade this afternoon. The fire started in one of the cafe’s downstairs, an eye witnesses said “there was a strong smell of smoke filling the Arcade and there was people running out of the cafe”. An ambulance was seen leaving the scene but it is not yet known if anyone was injured.

The Arcade is now open for business as usual.
