Emergency services have been fighting a large fire near to Virginia Street this evening.
Fire crews and police were called to Back Forest Road near to Rose Hill after a blaze broke out shortly after 6pm.
The fire started under Rose Hill Bridge at a scrap yard close to the railway line.
Two fire appliances were on scene as crews dampened the fire, which had quickly spread causing people nearby to close their windows to protect from smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and an investigation will be carried out.
