Fire crews had an early wake up call this morning after a small fire broke out in an alleyway near Jane’s Brook in Southport, Tuesday 19 May.

A crew from Merseyside Fire & Rescue were called to the small passageway connecting Jane’s Brook and Loxley Road just after 5am this morning after residents reported that a fire had broken out.

It’s suspected that the fire was started deliberately after some rubbish was set alight.

An investigation is now underway.
