Finance bosses want to deliver on Post Office regeneration

Plans are well underway to bring one of Lord Street’s Grade II listed buildings back to life after four years of neglect.

Applicant Jason Picktall has submitted a planning application to Sefton Council to refurbish the town’s former main Post Office near to Southport War Memorial and use it for business and financial services.

He plans to refurbish the ground, lower ground and basement levels and create a new mezzanine area over the ground floor at the site, which fronts onto St George’s Place
