Female cyclist hit by a car in Southport

The emergency services were called to the junction of Duke street and Cemetery road, Southport (Tuesday 21 March 2017) following reports of a RTC.

The woman (29) was struck by a black ford Focus outside the George pub at approximately 4:30pm.

Police put local diversions in place whilst the woman was being treated.

The injured female cyclist was given oxygen at the scene by paramedics before being transfered to Southport & Formby DGH.

Her condition is not thought to be life threatening.
