Farmhouse Kitchen among top contenders at British Pie Awards – again!

    By James Cave6th March 2025

Southport’s Farmhouse Kitchen has been shortlisted for an award at the prestigious British Pie Awards.

The Farmhouse Kitchen, located on Old Park Lane, previously secured four Bronze Medals in the annual national competition.

This year, the team submitted eleven different pies, including four new flavours alongside seven customer favourites.

Organisers confirmed the shortlisting this week, confirming the Farmhouse Kitchen have secured a top three entry, although the exact category(ies) and medal will remain secret until the awards ceremony.

The winners of Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards will be announced late on Friday, 7 March, following a special awards lunch held in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

British Pie Week, running from 3-10 March, celebrates the beloved pie, a staple of British cuisine with more than £1 billion worth sold annually across the UK.

The Farmhouse Kitchen expressed delight at the news, highlighting their commitment to creating innovative pies alongside traditional favourites.

The bakery will attend the awards lunch, hoping to continue their winning tradition and bring home further honours to Southport.

Owner Rob Marshall, better known to customers and friends as “Mr Farmhouse” confirmed: “I am proud to announce that myself & Mother Farmhouse have been invited to the most prestigious event of the year – the Pie Awards lunch- restricted to those placed in the top 3 of their category!

“We’ve entered 11 categories so fingers crossed we have been placed more than once!

“Since starting 5 years ago it’s been a lot of dedication, hard work, blood, sweat and tears!

“But we’ve been an amazing 5 years and we would truly be be lost without your support!

“How better to celebrate our 5th birthday than to head down to Melton Mowbray, the home of the pies, to receive our awards!”
