Mecca Bingo Southport will not reopen after closure due the coronavirus pandemic it was confirmed today.
Today bosses at the grade II listed Garrick Parade bingo hall said they were heartbroken by the news.
The closure means job losses for all remaining staff.
A statement by Mecca, which has long been a large job provider in the town, read “We are very sad to confirm that we will not be reopening our club in May and it is now permanently closed.
“We have been a part of the local community for many years, and we want to say a huge thank you to every single one of our incredible customers for their loyalty and support – we will miss you very much.
“We will be keeping this page open for the coming month, and we are happy to help with any queries you might have.
“Farewell from all of the Team at Mecca Southport.”
