Expensive Mercedes written off after coast road smash

Police are currently on scene at a serious smash on the coast road.

A Mercedes has been completely written off after reportedly losing control and colliding with bollards in heavy rain.

The car, which has had its front completely destroyed, is thought to have hit a series of concrete bollards hit as its driver lost control on the busy Marine Drive stretch of the coast road.

The accident happened shortly before 7 pm this evening.

Police are on scene directing traffic around the scene of the accident and an investigation is now underway.
