Expect long delays – Marine Drive closed for Air show

Marine Drive is now closed between The Pier and Esplanade roundabout, in preparation for the three day Southport Air Show between Friday and Sunday.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “Expect congestion on the Promenade and Lord Street as a result. If possible to leave the car at home or park a distance away, please do.

“Visitors to the town for Southport Air Show are advised to set off early as traffic will be heavy from north, south & east on Saturday and Sunday.”
