Everything you need to know about southport’s Christmas light Switch 

The Christmas light Switch On will take place Saturday, November 19 on Lord Street, Southport.

The switch on across the town and the Christmas tree in the Town Hall Gardens will lit up at 5.30pm.

The festive fun will start from 1pm with Santa, real life reindeer, a showing of the Muppets Christmas Carol on the big screen and a main stage show from 2.30pm

There will be live music from vocal harmony group The Overtones who will be switching on the lights.

Weather forecast for light Switch-on

For the light switch-on temperatures look set to reach highs of 6°C, but it will feel more like 2°C.

From midday there are a mixture of heavy and light rain expected, but by 4pm they will have disappeared.

It will be very cold, but dry – feeling around 2°C at the time the lights come on.
