Everybody Active Launch A Success

Launch of Everybody ActiveSouth Sefton residents are all set to get active following the successful launch of Sefton Councils ‘Everybody Active’ campaign.

The launch saw Stanley Road, near the Strand Shopping Centre, transformed with a mobile climbing wall, sailing equipment, netball posts, cycle smoothie maker – to show how the project aims to help thousands of adults to get more active.

Backed with £250,000 funding from Sport England, the initiative will also include rounders, back to netball, instructor-led outdoor gym sessions and family canoeing.

Members of the public were able to find out about the wide range of sessions available and hundreds of local residents signed up on the day.

Cllr Peter Dowd, Leader of Sefton Council, said: “It was great to see so many people at the launch and finding out how Everybody Active will benefit them.

“Making sure that the residents of South Sefton are keeping active and living healthy lifestyles is very important to the council and we are delighted that, with the help of Sport England, we are able to provide opportunities for everyone.”

Everybody Active sessions will start at the end of September and anyone interesting in taking part should call 0151 934 2355.
