Engaged on Valentines at the Tea Rooms

There was love in the air at Birkdale’s Tea Rooms yesterday when a local couple got engaged!

Karen Wilson was stunned when her partner Stephen got down on one knee during a valentine’s day celebration at the Liverpool Road based bar – shocked staff were overjoyed when they spotted the heart warming moment.

Celbrating with a glass of champagne afterwards, the newly engaged couple thanked staff and congratulatory passers by as they prepared to plan their future big day. Karen, once she had got over the initial shock, said: “Thank you all for making our night a special one! Some of the satff were almost as excited as me!”

They became the first ever couple to get engaged at the Tea Rooms.
