EMIRATES FA CUP | Port Squad Take To The Beach

Southport’s preparations for the Emirates FA Cup first round tie against Fleetwood Town continued on Thursday with a training session on the beach.

The Sandgrounders were put through their paces by manager Steve Burr and assistant Keith Briggs ahead of the eagerly-awaited clash in front of the live BT Sport cameras on Monday night.

Burr and his staff then enjoyed lunch at The Imperial Pub & Dining. A busy day on the club’s commercial front began with the weekly meeting at BNI Formby Links before attending the Southport Ambassadors Awards at the Southport Theatre as a sponsor.

Interest in Monday’s game is high with the town asked to turn out in numbers to cheer on the Port as they go in search of a cup upset.
