Man arrested following Southport Orange Lodge Parade

A man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly at Southport station on Tuesday evening.

The 22-year-old Liverpool man was arrested by British Transport Police for drunk and disorderly at 6.00pm before being taken into custody and issued with a fixed penalty notice.

Thousands of people from Orange Lodges across Britain took part in parades in Southport and Liverpool on Tuesday 12 July 2016.

This year they were celebrating the 326th Anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne when King William III of Orange was victorious over his rival King James II at the River Boyne in July 1690, which secured the Protestant ascendancy for generations.
