Warrant executed Abbey Gardens Birkdale Village Southport
Update
Officers from Merseyside Police Matrix and Dog unit team executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at a property on Abbey Gardens, Birkdale Village, Southport, at 2:30pm this afternoon (Thursday 12th February 2015).
The Matrix and dog section planned the raid at the Weld Road beach car park before moving in convoy towards Birkdale village.
Officers smashed their way through the front door.
The occupants inside the property fled the scene over back gardens.
Two men were arrested a short time later in Alma Road.
A search of the property was conducted and officers discovered a cannabis farm inside.
