Driver allegedly kicked windscreen after Lord Street bus smash

The driver of a Land Rover involved in a collision with a bus on Lord Street last night berated the driver and allegedly kicked and damaged the windshield following the incident.

Paramedics confirmed to OTS that they attended as a precaution but no-one was taken to hospital.

Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that officers were in Southport following reports of an RTC and criminal damage yesterday, Thursday 9 September.

“At around 6.55pm, officers were called to the junction of Lord Street and Eastbank Street to a collision between a Land Rover and a bus, close to the bus stop, causing damage but no injuries.

“The driver of the Land Rover reportedly exited the vehicle and shouted at the bus driver, before allegedly kicking and damaging the front windscreen of the bus.

“All parties remained at the location and enquiries are ongoing, including CCTV.
