The driver a white Ford Transit van was arrested on The Promenade and then taken into custody earlier this morning, leaving behind what is believed to be a Japanese Akita.

A police dog handler was called to ensure it’s safe removal. At around 10am police removed the dog that was happy and well natured.

A good ending for the police and dog, but not the owner.
