CCTV image released after man assaulted in Chorley pub

POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault at a pub in Chorley in August.

The incident took place at around 1.30am on Saturday 9 August at The Imperial, Union Street when the victim, a 28 year old local man, was approached by a man in the smoking area and punched in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. As the victim left the premises he was approached by a second man, who is believed to have been in company with the first offender, and was punched again in the face. The offender is then believed to have made his way back into the pub.

As a result of the attack the victim sustained a broken jaw which required surgery.

The first offender is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 9ins, slim build with short light brown hair and was wearing an electric blue t-shirt.

The second offender is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, slim build with short dark brown hair and was wearing a white t-shirt, light blue jeans and had a full sleeve of tattoos on his left arm.

PC Lee Tickle of Chorley Police said: “This was an unprovoked attack which initially started in the smoking area and continued at the front of the pub around closing time. We are keen to speak to the man pictured and I would urge him or anyone who may recognise him to come forward. Similarly I would ask that anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information about what happened to contact us on 101.”
