Darren Wildman leaves SFC community role

By Southport Football Club25th January 2021

Southport FC have confirmed that Darren Wildman has left his position as Community Development Officer.

The club said: “We would like to thank Darren for all of his work in the role over the past two years including on the various community initiatives, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Darren said: “Over the past two years I have been incredibly lucky to meet some of our amazing community in and around Southport. I have heard inspiring stories and been lucky to be part of some superb initiatives the club and Community Trust have launched.

“I am very proud of the work to get the Community Trust recognised as a registered charity and look forward to seeing it grow and provide further support to the local community of Southport.

“Throughout my time as Community Development Officer, I have continued my role as Academy Head and feel now is the right time to concentrate fully on my voluntary role growing the Academy, with someone else picking up the role of Community Development Officer.

“I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Ian Kyle and the Board for their trust and support, as well as the Trustees over the last two years. But, most of all, thank you to all our amazing fans and community for your support and help, and I hope to see some of you at the odd Academy game.”
