Dangerous ‘laughing gas’ canisters left littered in town centre

Southport is once again being hit by the laughing gas craze.

Shocked runners around the Southport Theatre and Marine Lake car park on the promenade say they have nearly slipped and fallen on empty canisters of laughing gas into the street.

A handful of empty cans of nitrous oxide were scattered across the road after a late night drug binge this morning.

One resident in nearby Bath Street said she had been told that teens gather at the rear of the former theatre out of sight of the police to take the legal high.
