Cruel Gardens visitors abuse mother swan

Concerns have been flagged up for the safety of swans at the Botanic Gardens.

Worried readers have spoken to OTS News after they noticed that the Mute swan nesting in the water under the bridge at the Churchtown park had been spotted with blood on its back last week – and that a lot of visitors to the area had been ‘going far too close’ to look at its nest.

As well as this, one of the eggs appears to have been stolen, dropping down to just five eggs from the previous of six.

The concern follows an incident in which a nesting swan at the park was shot by yobs last year.
