Crown Con 2017 at The Royal Clifton Hotel Southport. A Game of Thrones Fan Run Event. Where 100% Of The Profit Goes To Local Charities/Good Causes. It Was A Privilege For MakeItWorkShop To Be Involved.

A really exciting event took place on over the weekend of 5th to 7th May at The Royal Clifton Hotel in Southport.

MakeItWorkShop CIC were able to be involved in the UK’s only independent event totally dedicated to A Game Of Thrones.

Well all I can say is Wow!!! What an absolutely amazing few days. A very relaxed atmosphere and very friendly. Some wonderful actors from the series were there….Miltos Yerolemou, Michael Stuart, Brian Fortune, Kristy Robinson, Jessica Odell and Annette Hannah.

The first day consisted of an Ice Breaker Party and a Treasure Hunt which involved the guests and attendees popping into MakeItWorkShop to locate the giant Dalek and various other things around Southport.

Then a meet up at The Windmill Pub to get to know each other a little better before the big event. Thank you Kristy for giving us permission to use your photo. MakeItWorkShop had great fun being part of the Treasure Hunt.

MakeItWorkShop ran a Tombola with loads of funky items and a fabulous raffle and got into the spirit of things and dressed for the occasion. Well done Debster Clarke, Lisa Tinsley and Ray Mutch.

Debster managed to get a fab photograph with Michael Stuart and his autograph. She was able to stand and chat for a few minutes, which was great as normal photo ops/autos last a few seconds. It was a pleasure meeting him as he was really down to earth and approachable. Debster even got a hug.

The Traders Room was full of AMAZING stuff. Debster actually got the beautiful corset in the picture from a wonderful steampunk seamstress there called Laurianne Grey.

Attendees could have a go at the Green Screen by PersonalPrints and they even had a Winterfell backdrop.

You could meet the actors at the Meet and Greet sessions and get their Autographs and Photos. Attendees could also book Waterdancing Classes with the great Miltos, better known as Syria Forel in the first season of Game Of Thrones. Also available was a fantastic Chainmail Workshop.

All this and two after parties were included in your ticket. Saturday night was the Steampunk Ball and Sunday was the Winterfell Onesie party and Cosplay Competiton.

A great atmosphere and it was nice to see the guests enjoying themselves just as much as the attendees. Crown Con was supporting this amazing charity/cause “Fibro Info Southport”. More information on this charity can be found at “www.fibroinfosouthport.co.uk”.
