Councillor Sue McGuire re-elected leader of Liberal Democrat group

Cambridge ward councillor Sue McGuire was re-elected as Leader of the Liberal Democrat group of councillors on Sefton Council.  Councillor McGuire first won her seat in Cambridge Ward in 2006 and has been re-elected to represent Cambridge Ward twice and this is her Councillor second year as leader.

Councillor Sue McGuire said “I feel honoured to have been re-elected as leader and I’m looking forward to heading up such a great team of councillors including our newly elected members Lynne Thompson, David Pullin and Bill Welsh.”

Councillor McGuire added “Last week the people of Southport decided to put their trust in the Liberal Democrats. We have a responsibility now to work even harder on behalf of our residents. We are determined to ensure that Southport has a strong voice on Sefton Council to deliver the best deal for our town”.
