Norwood Avenue residents are furious that a destroyed tree on their street hasn’t been replaced.

A tree was killed after a careless van driver smashed into it.

Unfortunately Council bigwigs have paved over the soil and replaced it with tarmac paving instead of replacing the tree.

One angry Norwood Avenue resident told OTS “It’s a pity Sefton Council aren’t aware of the Urban Tree Challenge Fund backed by Environment Secretary Michael Gove, to line our urban streets with more trees.

The council’s solution is to do away with the tree, which was newly planted a few years ago, and tarmac the pavement. Need I say more?”
