Council close Ainsdale beach car park as capacity reached

Ainsdale beach car park has been closed after hundreds of sun worshipers flooded seafront today.

As temperatures continue to soar, Council rangers have been forced to close the Ainsdale beach car park after it reached full capacity this morning.

Cars are being turned away or face waiting for hours under a one-in-one-out system.

Sefton Council warned this weekend is expected to be exceptionally busy and beach lovers may be best looking elsewhere for sunshine.

There are over 1,000 parking spaces close to Southport Beach at Esplanade Park and Ride, which people can find using a Sat Nav at postcode PR8 1RX.

Costs are just £2 per day per car Monday to Saturday, including a free bus service into Southport Town Centre.
