Council chiefs evacuated after furious taxpayer phones in bomb threat

7th January 2020

Council chiefs have been evacuated from their offices after a bomb scare.

OTS has been told that ab aggrieved resident phoned in a bomb scare at the council headquarters in Bootle today causing a mass evacuation.

Staff were left in the dark about the incident believing it to be a fire drill.

The alarm was raised when a woman allegedly called the building to say there was a suspicious package.

Susannah Kempner, whose fiancé was in the building, told OTS her partner called her to warn her of the threat.

She said “he was a bit scared but at that point it was just a rumour he heard. I was so frightened. Someone called to say they were angry with their council tax and said they had left a bomb in the building.”

“My partner was evacuated with everyone else and was told it was a fire drill. I’ve told him he’s not allowed to go back to work.”
