Workers will move in to the Southport theatre site this week to prepare the building for impending demolition.
The council have told residents today that work will finally begin on site this week after a number of politicians raised concerns about the project stalling.
The ex theatre is to be demolished to make way for the Marine Lake Events Centre.
Deliveries and contractors will be rolled into the area and heavy machinery could be seen, nearby residents have been told.
A date for the actual demolition has yet to be revealed however it’s expected the works will begin sooner rather than later.
Specialist ‘welfare’ units are being set up around the complex and further updates have been promised in the coming weeks.
